Grenada's new administration has appointed a three-member advisory committee to help the Cabinet of Ministers fine tune their policies and programmes to be designed to govern the island.
An authoritative source told GRENADA TODAY that the formation of the committee was approved at last week's sitting of Cabinet.
He said that the new grouping includes two attorneys-of-law, Lloyd Noel and Carol Bristol, as well as Accountant Henry Joseph who is associated with the firm of Pannell Kerr Forster.
Noel served for a brief period as Acting Attorney-General during the 1979 83 rule of the People's Revolutionary Government (PRG), while Bristol is a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Grenada.
Joseph has been associated with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) since its formation in the mid-1980's.
According to the source, female attorney-at-law, Debra St. Bernard who has experience in public administration might be drafted into the committee as another member.
He said the advisory body has been mandated by the two month old government of Prime Minister Tillman Thomas to help the administration streamline items of priorities for the consideration of Cabinet.
He added that ultimately the ministers of government would be responsible for making all final decisions on issues submitted by the committee for consideration.
The source could not say when the newly formed body would be activated since the members have not yet received their instruments of appointments.
Prime Minister Thomas' administration came to office following the July 8 general elections in which it trounced the then ruling New National Party (NNP) regime of ex-Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Mitchell.
