Prime Minister Tillman Thomas is back home after visits to the United States and Canada.
The final leg of the trip took PM Thomas to Toronto to meet with nationals living in the Canadian city.
In an address to the overseas Grenadians, he said that the two month old National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is forging ahead with plans to set up a Diaspora Desk to ensure the involvement of Grenadians residing overseas in the development of the country.
Speaking at a Gala reception at Ella's Banquet Hall on Saturday, the Prime Minister said that the Diaspora continues to play a major role in Grenada's development and his administration will be placing this among priority areas.
"We are planning to set up a desk of the Diaspora so that we could coordinate activities in terms of development, in terms of skills, we could be able to get the benefits of your experience," he added.
PM Thomas noted that despite the many challenges the country face, his government is settling down to deal with the business of running the country efficiently and with the involvement and participation of the people.
"I have said time and time again that we are in government as the trustees and you are the beneficiaries," he said.
The Prime Minister, who was accompanied by Foreign Minister Peter David and attorney-at-law, Anslem Clouden, also highlighted the need to resuscitate the agriculture industry.
"In a time when we are feeling the pinch of a global food crisis we need to get our agriculture going again. We have very fertile lands to grow our food and we need to go in that direction", he said.
The delegation also attended a church service and reception on Sunday at the Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in West Toronto.
The Prime Minister then took time to answer questions from Grenadians and other Caribbean nationals about agriculture, the economy, and regional integration.
He even had to respond to a 10 year-old boy who wanted to know what his life has been since becoming Prime Minister.
"It's a lot of responsibilities and a lot of restrictions," he said with laughter.
Prime Minister Thomas, Foreign Minister David and Consul General Jenny Gumbs spent Sunday afternoon meeting with a number of potential investors as well as Canadian officials.
