The package from China is intended to help RGPF enhance its operational functions.
Ambassador Wanhai indicated that the presentation marks another symbol of "the good relationship between our two countries."
The Chinese Resident Ambassador spoke of the relationship that has been developed between the military force in China and RGPF over the past three years since Grenada re-established diplomatic relations with the PRC.
He recalled that last year, two military personnel from China helped in teaching members of the RGPF the Chinese Kung Fu art.
At present four members of the Chinese Military Band are working along with the RGPF Band."Today we are providing some office equipment to the Police Force. We do hope that with this gift we can enhance the performance of the Grenada Police Force in carrying out their work," Ambassador Wanhai said.
The Chinese Diplomat gave assurances that the cooperation between the two countries will continue in the years ahead.
He disclosed that next month three local police officers will visit China to participate in military seminars and workshops.
Deputy Commissioner Charles outlined the historical background to the presentation of the gift.
He said it came out of a visit to Grenada two years ago by Major General Jang Bangdong of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense who made an offer of technical and material assistance to RGPF.
"A wish list was generated and submitted to the Chinese Ministry of Defense Authorities. Since that historic occasion, the Royal Grenada Police Force has benefitted from many professional exchanges including, most recently, musical instrument and attachment of the four-man team to the RGPF Band to aid in the further development," he said.
Charles said the gift of computers will facilitate the completion of the computerisation project of the force.
In addition, he said that training within RGPF is imperative and that the multimedia projectors will become significant in facilitating training, as well as enhancing the operations centre "to better respond to calls for service and operations management."
