The so-called people with sense among us or rather whom we credit with sense seem to continue to choose to remain in Grenada and live under NNP  and their nastiness while Grenada continues to be dragged into the "larlie" drain over the last 13 years.
The wanton disrespect the real people with sense among us have for the current holder of the office of Prime Minister in and over Grenada is bound to continue as a result of his perpetual disregard for standards, quality and accountability in public life.

I have never seen such high levels of gross disrespect shown for that office let alone its holder -  not even in Gairy's day. Of course, during the revolution, the office had a certain esteem to it, all apart from the heavy manners which came naturally if anyone dared to show any form of disdain for the office.

At least in Gairy's day, he was regarded by opponents as Lucifer which is synonymous with power and "inchargeness"! But in the case of the current we can hear and read of him being referred to by all sorts of things which I do not want to mention. That is so sad!

I am sure he must feel inferior when compared to each of his predecessors, especially Sir Nicholas Alexander Brathwaite, the most respected post revolution Prime Minister of Grenada.   People like Dr. Francis Alexis, who was once with Keith Mitchell in the Grenada Democratic Movement (GDM) in the early days of the aftermath of the collapse of the revolution must be having the last laugh at the unfolding of his reward for all the tomfoolery, trickery, intrigue and subterfuge which occurred, leading to his (Mitchell's) outmaneuvering of Herbert Blaize at the NNP's1989 convention.

One thing for sure is that Dr. Alexis may not have become Grenada's Prime Minister, but we all know that he does not attract any of the infamy Mitchell has worked hard to attract over the years.

Dr. Alexis, instead, has the respect of many locally, regionally and internationally when it comes to the command of his pet subject i.e. constitutional law. His debating skills have been unmatched to this day in the local political arena. We all must recall how he had all his colleague political leaders for supper during the GBN-sponsored leaders  debate which was nationally televised prior to the 2003 general  elections.

His advice and legal opinions are sought and relied upon in this desperate attempt of the Kleptocracy to unseat a legitimate Commonwealth Citizen constitutionally provided for by our constitution.

Dr. Alexis worked briefly with the well known St. George's business concern known and Jonas Browne & Hubbard for a short while and no one can point any finger at him with respect to embezzlement.

Let the one involved in the Grenada Shipping Agents fiasco in the early 70's defend himself with respect to dipping his hands in the money bag and being caught red-handed.

And today, he wants to bring all and sundry to court as if they are common criminals. Let those without sin cast the first stone. It must be hard for the resident judge/s in Grenada to be living among our people and being subjected to such inferior arguments being put forward by the Mitchell Kleptocracy in their weak interpretation of the constitution time and time again.

If it is not the Peter David case, it is now the Patricia Mark case with moves to replace her with probably a friend, so that when the table turns the NNP big boys to be charged with misbehaviour in public office believe that they might find someone sitting on the bench who might be willing to accommodate them. If they think that Jerry Seales will put his career on the line for them, they better think twice.
I am on record as advising strongly that this year was going to be an interesting year for our country, and you probably did not believe me.
Our working people have flexed their muscles through their active membership in our trades union movement and have made their position clear at the May Day march and rally.

I am sure Mitchell and his "scare-dem-crew" must be quaking in their boots especially when they realise that the thousands of little children who attended their youth rally cannot vote.   Individually, the members of NNP "Kleptocracy" seem to be doing well while the majority of the nation are catching hell.

If they were genuinely concerned about managing the nation's affairs they would have anticipated the likelihood of the current hardship that many people are now experiencing. But you see, feathering their nest was more important and so while they were enjoying themselves, the nation's economy was going to hell.

You are reminded that over the last thirteen years, countless questionable things occurred with Emerging Technology, Call Centers, Dorset Charles, Dipcon, Miller and the Hog Island debacle, Van Brink and his offshore scamps, Viktor Kozeny, Eric Resteiner and the bribery allegations against Mitchell for a diplomatic position, the bribery allegations against Bowen by Natural Gas and Oil speculator, Jack Grynberg, etc., etc.. etc.

Let me take time off here to express my gratitude to all for your appreciation of the return of this graphic column. Your appreciation for the genuine concern I share for the Parliamentary Elections Office and the likelihood of some measure of loyalty to the NNP Syndicate as against the interest of a free and fair elections, is also well noted.

Other Caribbean nations are preparing to share jail for misbehaviour in public office regardless of whether the culprit/s is/are on the side of the ruling administrations or the opposition. It is time for us to share jail to all who have been involved in similar misbehaviour in public office as we have seen on a widespread basis in our own neck of the woods.

All who we know could not write a cheque without it being returned for insufficient funds not-too-long ago and are today sporting large houses whether domestic or commercial must be investigated.   All who aided and abetted the process of misbehaviour in public office by those big wigs in NNP must be brought to justice also. We don't care how high up they are in their various churches we need to encourage the law to fall hard on them.

Already I have been told concretely that key members of the international community are quite willing to adhere to any serious request for debt forgiveness and/or assistance to rectify the lopsidedness of our debt versus our ability to service same.

To qualify though, any succeeding administration has to meet the criteria of holding the one time mis-managers accountable for their actions which put the country in so much debt in the first place. I understand further that pivotal to the pre-qualification must be agreement to conduct a top scale forensic audit of the questionable period.

This could mean the bringing in for questioning of contractors (large and small) who may have paved a small piece of road to those who may have built something as "tremendously" unsound as the national stadium proved to have been.

We have to remember the Ministry of Education building in the Botanical Gardens was built from funds made available through World Bank from the People's Republic of China and we never heard any talk of bubbul in that one! We have to investigate thoroughly the school repair/reconstruction program.

Mitchell & Bowen, together with the rest of the crew could jump high or jump low, the next time around they have to go. I am convinced that things will change all in the fullness of time! I can hear the jail door banging louder and louder each passing day  although I do not live close to the jail

This is to tell you how loudly it bangs in advance of the new occupants who will be going inside there shortly.

Misbehaviour in public office must stop!
