Embattled local banker, Finton DeBourg says that the law office of Danny Williams and Co had nothing to do with the running of his financially-plagued Capital Bank International Ltd.
He made the startling revelation while appearing as a guest on "Sundays with George Grant" that is broadcast on several local FM radio stations.

De Bourg's surprise statement came as he responded to a caller who asked him to disclose the Bank's shareholders and explain Governor General, Sir Daniel Williams' involvement in the Bank's affairs. "Danny Williams and Company had nothing to do with the operations of CapBank", he said.
According to De Bourg, the office of Danny Williams and Co was one of the attorneys used by CapBank and had performed only legal functions pertaining to the affairs of the Bank.
This statement contrasts sharply with a few cheques seen by GRENADA TODAY which showed that the law firm was writing cheques on behalf of the bank.
One small businessman told this newspaper that he had entered into a financial transaction with Capbank and had to wait for several weeks to obtain the funds due to the fact that a lawyer from the law firm was out of the country on holiday.
"I had to wait until she (the lawyer who is a daughter of Sir Daniel) came back in the country. When I got the cheque it was signed by (Sir) Daniel's daughter", said the customer.
A senior journalist on the island spoke of having in his possession a returned cheque from Capbank that was signed by the law firm on behalf of De Bourg's bank. He said that he contacted the Receiver of Capbank who requested that he bring in the cheque to them.
De Bourg although refusing to identify the shareholders of the Bank pointed out that the financial institution has 16 shareholders; dozens of preference share holders and Class B shareholders.
Three of the shareholders named by the Bank in official documents filed with the Registry of the Supreme Court have denied having any involvement in the Bank's affairs.
The trio, attorney-at-law, Anslem Clouden, and business executives, Lingham Samuel and Francis Darius have all publicly denied that they are Directors of CapBank.
Clouden has since instituted legal action against De Bourg in connection with the document that was discovered at the Registry following the collapse of the bank.
