From politics where the historic Parish has seen the birth of its first Prime Minister, the focus has now turned to culture as result of the just concluded Carnival Celebrations which saw St. Patrick's taking the major prizes.
First it was the crowning of Asheida Charles as Miss Grenada Carnival Queen.
Charles beat a field of six other contestants to emerge as the winner. She also took the bulk of the individual prizes for best talent, swim wear, costume, evening wear, and the people's choice.
Next came the soca monarch title that was retained by the brothers, Luni Sparks and Electrify.
As part of their success, they have automatically been placed in the finals of the International Soca Monarch Competition that takes place in Trinidad next February.
Dimanche Gras Night saw two titles going to the Northern Parish.
Biko Lewis captured the 2008 Calypso Monarch Title, while the King of the Band Title, a presentation of Lazarus Antoine, also made its way to St. Patrick's.
Finley Jeffrey, Scholar, who won the Calypso Monarch Title for the past three years did not defend.
