Grenada is at a very interesting cross road where the genuine reconciliation which the life of Prime Minister Tillman Thomas emulates and models is being misinterpreted.  It is being misinterpreted by supporters as well as detractors.

Supporters are up in arms with the silence which has been breeding rumours and suspicions which are not comforting. Known loyalists to Keith Mitchell, many of whom may hardly be able to pick up their names on a piece of paper on the ground or worse yet, if you paint it on a large banner over a popular street but who made meteoric progress to reach the highest offices within the public service are still in touch with the man whom they feel a sense of obligation towards.

I understand when one was asked, why the photograph of the Former Prime Minister is still up in the lobby of the Ministerial Complex her response was she does not pass there so she did not know. I understand further that when a certain person within a certain Ministry witnessed another person removing files from a certain Ministry and she had the authority to stop it and when asked about it her response was "De man done say he don't want anybody to be loyal to him, so me ain't able" words to that effect.  This only proves how unfit such a fool is for the position she holds and how unqualified she is to be a recipient of reconciliation.

The Grenadian people must known that reconciliation is two way.  I believe the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration will do well to know that too! Proper research must be carried out to ascertain who is not willing to meet the administration on the half with reconciliation before any decision is made to reconcile with them be they Permanent Secretary or whoever.  They must be able to fit in to the new scheme of things.

I am concerned very concerned that the reconciliation philosophised by this new administration in St. George's may be their undoing -- since it is not understood by both their supporters and their detractors.

What might be needed is for the administration to fashion a public relations approach which will help to define their focus in that direction. Many Grenadians are waiting for the Carnival season to be over before they draw their swords to extract their pound of flesh in the form of DEMANDING the change they voted for.

I know that supporters of the last regime are saying it is time for George Worme and Max and even Eddie Frederick on his Caribbean Perspective (News) programme aired on VOG FM daily at 8:30 a.m. - me to let go of the subject.

Guess what!  I have news for you!  We have only completed phase one in relation to Keith Mitchell. We are at the stage of phase two where his inferior structure he set up in our public service MUST BE DISMANTLED so as not to impede him from going WHERE HE BELONGS!  That place where he prepared for all of thirteen years to end up for probably the rest of his life.

Persons like George Worme, Chester Humphrey, Glen Noel, Eddie Frederick, Anslem Clouden, Michael Baptiste and in the later round Lloyd Noel together with all other decent citizens but in particular those names I mentioned together with yours truly (Max Sterling) who worked hard to educate this nation for most of the 13 years of Mitchell's misbehavior in public office our efforts must not go in vain and be reduced to naught.

We deserve the respect of at least a referral before the NDC leadership which became chief beneficiary of our efforts make any move to confirm at least certain sensitive thoughts. Trust me we are genuine and consistent and love Grenada first.

I can tell you we have paid a heavy price and that must be respected. When Mitchell "sooked" his pot hounds at Eddie Frederick sponsorship of his sixteen year (at the time) radio programme dwindled.

Mitchell even went as far as to sue him together with Stanley Charles and Grenada Broadcasting Radio (GBN) for something which I am sure he knew had nothing to do with him but rested with Stanley Charles and even got judgment in the matter as if to "extort" money from the three parties but looking forward to having the court declare Frederick a bankrupt.

This is the same man who got his wild pot hound to trump up some charges on Baptiste in order to silence and sideline him. He also went all out against George Worme, and of course we know that story only too well.

Don't talk about Chester Humphrey he saw to it that the St. George's University's recommendation of Chester's son for a scholarship did not materialise.  But guess what ?  The young man is today a qualified medical Doctor no thanks to Grenada. He tried to go after both Lloyd Noel and Anslem Clouden and failed miserably.
Glenn Noel was not spared his wrath either. But guess what again they all prevailed in the end while he must be rehearsing to spend some good time getting accustomed to "Bubber" who might just be his only mate in the place he is bound to end up for all his intransigence against the people of Grenada.

There are some just-comes who have parried themselves around the NDC who had voiced their opposition to those of us who voiced opposition to Mitchell for all of the thirteen years he was in office - who today want to claim to have turned things around  for the NDC in the campaign period.

Where were they over the period of the thirteen years?  Some of them were early beneficiaries of the corruption while others fell out only recently with Mitchell. Michael Baptiste's contribution to the downfall of Mitchell and Bowen and all his corruption must not be taken lightly. In fact, I will recommend that he be considered for a proper honour for his contribution to politics in Grenada. Any suich move will be defended galantly by your truly!

We have to all pray for God to shower the leadership of the new administration with the spirit of discernment so that they can be guided by good intuition to make the right decisions. On the question of who is NDC and who is NNP.  Let me put something straight for all the inferior minds of sub-zero intelligence.

Mitchell's contempt for the intelligent united strange forces and even enemies against him. He was his own enemy who needed to be protected from himself.   A lot of the people who used the NDC as the only viable entity/vehicle to unseat Mitchell are not necessarily NDC supporters.

There should be no mistake about that. Forces were married together to get rid of Mitchell and that is all. NDC will be judged on the merits of its performance in government. In parting I want to know if the new Attorney General has reached to the National Lottery Authority yet. The Director of Public Prosecution needs to summon the cheque book of the NLA and issue a directive for a full investigation into the NLA with a view to bringing the cheque book holder to justice if any hanky panky is found.

This should be done before the cheque book holder or perceived abuser returns from the Far East so that that person can land straight in the hands of the police in handcuffs, too, to face serious charges if any wrong doing is discovered. I understand that a man from "Space" who was "ketching hell" after he was no longer in grace may have had his telephone and electricity bill paid from the NLA's cheque book. That ought to be investigated thoroughly.

We ought to reconcile with only who are willing to be reconciled with. The others who insist on entertaining cell phone calls from the "Chief T'ief" as if he is still in charge and even attending meetings that he calls must be extracted from the service.

The nation would not mind if these people are paid off and sent packing as this is a new dispensation. The breath of fresh air administration better be careful not to squander their goodwill which is so plural among us. The chief t'ief is gone, but remember that is only phase one. The other phases are yet to unfold.
