When Eric Gairy landed in Grenada and established the medium for the working class to get a better deal from the planters, he became their "Hero".

He did well to have fought the establishment and won. History will continue to be kind to his memory and the invaluable contribution to lift the consciousness of the average man and woman and thus their standard of living.

It is unfortunate that their quality of life never moved in consort with their standard of living and that up to today seems to be the major problem facing our nation.   Old people say: "You can take the pig out of the pen, but you cannot take the pen out of the pig".

We have seen many a man and woman who assume positions of authority and responsibility in our nation who were extremely poor examples for our youth during the past thirteen years. When the cycle of civilisation is as mangled as ours seems to be, our people must be doomed to perish. In conversation with a number of youth from a particular area of Grenada as recent as last week, it was stated quite clearly that when men who dress up in jacket and tie could use contacts within the system to throw a blind eye on their sins against society what does that leave the ordinary man to think?

Obviously, he must lose hope! This is true for the youth of this country also. We have some businessmen who instead of focusing on the genuine development of their businesses and thus making a meaningful contribution to the society in which they live, work overtime plotting how to take the virginity of young unsuspecting girls in school uniform.

I do know of one who up to recently walked around with his bank book in his shirt pocket and flashed it as a medium to woo these unsuspecting youthful females.   Many such individuals also spend their time ducking their responsibilities to the State as they relate to paying taxes and duties on imports which they sell and make quite a handsome profit.

As was told to you on several occasions, when individuals who are capable of such crimes against humanity, not to mention the national economy get near the corridors of power, they continue to corrupt the entire system, so as to make it comfortable for them to function undetected.

Venezuela is one such corrupt State where the majority of moneyed people are contented to live in the chaos so as not to expose themselves and the way they've become rich and manage to remain rich.   We have people here who subscribed to this kind of nastiness during the past thirteen years.

Look at the people who supported the last corrupt administration, eh - just look at them. You are sure to see vagabonds of all types among them.   There are those who have been in business over the last umpteen years and could not stand up against the competition in an honest and fair game.  Today they are millionaires off the "rachifie" deals and contracts awarded them by the Mitchell Kleptocracy outside of the tendering process.

Many such business personalities line up to register their convenient support for Mitchell in whose control Grenadians carelessly placed their nation for thirteen years. There is another group of depraved individuals who just don't know better and no matter what you tell them their marriage to the malignant ignorance they were born into fuels their support for this group of like minded (bandits) just because they were given a chance to make a living.

There is another group who are just plain old coward who, in an effort to not rock the boat take anything they are given under the guise of being peaceful. They are just as corrupt only difference is that they are quiet about it.

Just go and check out the people who insist on supporting Mitchell (King Dregs) and his disciples and you will be able to measure with mathematical exactitude the extent to which they benefited from the system through their inherent crookedness. It is only an inferior type of person with little or no morals who could have tolerated the nastiness of these infidels as authority in Grenada.

What I find interesting is the fact that since their loss at the polls they are suffering from serious denial. They have been made to feel the vibes of real reconciliatory changeŠ and though they expected reprisals from the new administration, some of whose supporters are complaining that that is not the kind of change they voted for, so they are confused.

I agree with the new administration to lift the status of the leader of the opposition and provide courtesies which we were never used to as that is a change we better get accustomed to which many probably never thought they voted for. The new Prime Minister is not a man who talks reconciliation he lives it. Imagine he was imprisoned by the People's Revolutionary Government for the majority of its rule from 1979 to 1983 and when he came out of prison he never allowed any bitterness to fester.

Instead he welcomed among his ranks members of that same system who jailed him forming a formidable force to be reckoned with, which is today government of Grenada. It will be a wonderful day when the handcuffs are slapped on the "chief t'ief" in the last administration, regardless of how many bodyguards around him.

Since 1995, Grenada has resorted to the ugliest and most inferior individuals among us to take the lead. There are so many people here in Grenada who do not know their place, it isn't funny.   They continue to take jobs which some of them know they cannot do, and the rest who do not know continue to make a mess of the various professions. No wonder Grenada resembles the dustbin of civilisation.

That is about to change.  Starting on Thursday 31st July, 2008 a lot of the people who were paid under Vote 340 in the various ministries will have expired. That is the beginning of things to come.
Permanent Secretaries whose loyalty remains to Mitchell since they are rumoured to be having secret meetings with him and leaking sensitive information while they are alleged to be backdating certain documents and conclusions in order to protect the interest of their clan, will be the next step for the new administration.

Regardless of what who may think about any move to right position the square pegs from their round holes in the service, we have to remember that when Mitchell was elected to office in 1995 he moved hastily to put his people in place and professional public servants like Meryl Foresyth, William Joseph, Richard Duncan, Madonna Harford just to name a few were sidelined.

The inferiors who have floated to the top of the service in the various Ministries must be right positioned so that the service could be a respectable place to work once more.   Class mates of the current holder of the Cabinet Secretary position are crying shame on her for the manner in which her name is being called. One can only ask Why Elizabeth? Oh why, why?

It is my information that the coming weeks and months for Dr. Mitchell will not be good ones at all, as there are so many legal excitements coming his way. It brings to mind what I was told that money in the hands of dishonest people obtained through dishonest means must end up in the hands of honest people.

Lawyers will have to be flown in to take care of Mitchell's woes and God knows he has a lot of them.   Grenadians, trust me on this one as I was told the briefcase issue will be considered child's play in comparison with some of the other things Mitchell has to face.

And he has the guts to tell his ignorant supporters that he will be back at his old job in six months! His fourth term will be spent not in Happy Hill but on some other hill overlooking the city. And his accomplices would be made to pay also.

While on this note just before concluding the issue relating to Dr. Patrick Antoine must be dealt with as a matter of urgency.  His contract must not be honoured and the majority of people in Grenada would stand behind the decision of the new administration to get rid of him.

Dr. Antoine probably cherishes our red passport too much so he could run up and down the region enjoying himself. That must stop!
People bear patience with the new administration for today is only twenty four (24) days since they were elected. They must of course remember that with 76 more days to go before their first hundred days, some hard decisions need to be taken now while they are riding on the crest of the people's support.  A word to the wise is enough!
