A police raid at Belle Vue just outside St. George's
has resulted in the recovery of 14 trees of young marijuana trees, ranging from 6 to 10 feet in height.
A GRENADA TODAY team was outside the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) when the officers were off loading their "recovery" Tuesday afternoon.
A rastafarian dreadlocked man is believed to be assisting the police in their investigation.
A police official tld GRENADA TODAY that the illegal marijauna plants were discovered during a routine bush patrol by police officers in the area.
He said that the ganja trees were found planted among cultivated crops like bananas and ochros.
"We normally make checks in different areas (of the country) and just happen to come across it", he said.
As the police officers were preparing to take the marijuana plants off their vehicle, a civilian passerby attempted to touch the "find" with one of his hands.
The officer drew his attention to his illegal act by stating: "Aye man, aye man, what you doing?"
He was heard telling the civilian that he could not do that and the man apologised to the officer and continued to walk away from the vehicle.
