Beauty, sophistication and intelligence will be showcased this weekend as 18 ladies between the ages of 17 and 25 grace the stage at the Grenada Boys Secondary School auditorium.

At the end of the competition, one lucky Grenadian will be selected to represent the Spice Isle at the Miss World beauty pageant to be held in China in November. The ladies last week Saturday took to the catwalk in the garden at Jenny's Place and gave approximately 300 guests a sample of what is expected on Saturday night.

The Fashion Show, entitled"Beauty with a Purpose," was coordinated by Lexann Medford-Fletcher of Spices Modeling and Media Management Agency.The agency is not only about fashion shows, it provides a pool of talent under one roof for projects, events and advertisements. The island and business communities are still getting used to the concept but many business establishments have already taken advantage of this dynamic type of service", said Medford.

The"Miss Grenada World Pageant" is back after more than 30 years of being out of the world-classed event. Former Miss World (1970), Jennifer Hosten was issued the franchise for the Miss Grenada World Pageant by the organisers of the Miss World Contest earlier this year.

Patron of the show was Lady Gloria Williams, wife of Governor General, Sir Daniel Williams. Proceeds after expenses, will go to the Grenada Carriacou and Petite Martinique Foundation for Needy Students Inc.
