Police are still to make a breakthrough in arresting anyone in connection with the attacks on the homes of two foreign diplomats.
The incidents have forced the Ministry of National Security to step up security at all embassies and consulates in Grenada.
And Minister of National Security, Senator Einstein Louison, has given the assurance that no stone will be left unturned in bringing the person or persons responsible to justice following the attacks within days of each other.
Spokesperson for the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF), Troy Garvey confirmed that several persons have been brought in for questioning in connection with the two attacks but no arrests have been made.
Intruders first attacked the Italian Consul to Grenada, Vittoria Bertoletti, at her home in the south of the island on March 4, leaving her with a fractured noise and swollen face.
According to reports, the intruders entered the Consul¹s home last week Saturday night demanding money and, after refusing to comply, she was beaten by the masked men.
Within days of that incident, the Cuban Ambassador Maria Delgado Valdes, and her husband Isaac Saavedra Valdes, aged 62 were attacked at their home.
The husband nd seriously injured by unknown intruders.
Saavedra Valdes was left hospitalised after being struck in the head. The wife did not suffer any serious injuries.
Nothing was reportedly taken from the Cuban diplomatŒs residence.
Commissioner of Police, Winston James, has ordered all possible resources of the police force to be used to apprehend the culprits.
Police officials are trying to determine whether or not the two incidents are related.
Sen. Louison has ordered police to provide 24-hour security for all diplomatic personnel in the country. At least 10 countries have representatives living in Grenada.
The Ministry of National Security and the Royal Grenada Police Force have disclosed that they are responding to these incidents with the highest priority and urgency, as this can give rise to concern in the international community and negatively impact the country, as it continues to prepare to host games during the ICC Cricket World Cup from April 10, 2007.
The Commissioner is also seeking the assistance of the general public in bringing this matter to a speedy conclusion and anyone with information that can assist the police should contact the nearest police station immediately.
Both Sen. Louison and Commissioner James have assured the nation that the resources of the Police Force will be fully utilized to maintain peace and stability across the nation.
