Police have been called in to investigate a chopping incident among inmates at the Richmond Hill prison.
According to well-placed sources, the perpetrator of the crime is Stalin Bruno, the convicted but much feared rapist and well known thief from the southern part of the island.
A source who did not want to be identified denied claims in some parts of the island that the chopping incident which took place on Monday was gang related.
He spoke of the victim being chopped in the area of the chest and on one of the hand by Stalin who is believed to have used a sharpened instrument on his victim.
He said that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has been notified of the incident with a view to investigating the matter and most likely laying charges against the suspect.
The source said that he was not shocked about the latest chopping incident inside the prison given the rather "poor security" that is often seen within the walls of the Richmond Hill compound.
A few years ago, Bruno sent shock waves among women throughout the country when he escaped from the Richmond Hill prison.
The feared Stalin has built up a reputation as "a brave and daring thief and rapist" who targets the homes of women whenever he is out of prison.
Meanwhile, police have reportedly laid charges against a former female bank employee in St. George's who is suspected of stealing over $300, 000.00 from one of the bank's long-standing clients.
The client is said to be angry with the local bank over the long delay in paying him back the stolen money.
He reportedly hired an attorney-at-law to look after his interest in the matter.
The ex-bank employee is suspected of stealing the money over a period of time.
