Her elegance, pride, confidence, charisma, poise and intelligence helped German born Grenadian citizen, Vivian Burkhardt to cop the coveted Miss Grenada World Pageant to represent the island at November's Miss World Pageant in China.
The local show which was staged at the newly refurbished auditorium of the Grenada Boys Secondary School (GBSS) on Saturday night attracted hundreds of spectators.
With her satin green gown flowing princess-like around her slender figure, the 21 year old took control of the stage to outshine her 17 competitors and steal the hearts of the five judges.
After three appearances before the eager crowd - swim wear, evening wear and interview, the St George's University student emerged to be the one holding the mantle to SPICE UP the World in November.
An overjoyed Burkhardt following her crowning stated that she was stunned with the result.
She said that she had expected to emerge among the top but not to win."I don't even know how to feel right now", she told reporters.
The 21-year old medical student got widespread support from among the audience.
Although she faltered when answering her question, the glitch was apparently not sufficient to take away the top position.
Miss Grenada World holds an Associate Degree in Natural Science and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Life Science.
She also speaks German, English and French and is engaged in Classical singing. She is also a certified sailor and certified scuba diver.
The prize winner promised to do everything within her powers to make the people of Grenada proud at the China event
She was sponsored by Prickly Bay Waterside. Her closest rival was 17 year old Renee Moses, an aspiring medical practitioner in the area of obstetrics and gynecology.
Moses is presently a student at St. George's University, pursuing a B.A. in Life Sciences.
Her talents are dancing, singing, piano and tenor drum. She was sponsored by Nutmed.
Second runner-up was 23 year old Crystal Mc Lawrence, the winner of the recent Pulse B-Mobile model search competition; 3rd Runner up was 24 year old Michelle Minors; and 4th Runner up was 19 year old Alyssa Bierzynski.
Miss Grenada World also copped the awards for Miss Fitness and The People's Choice.
Other awardees were Miss Talent - Anika Phillip (19); Miss Beach Beauty - Shanique Strachan (21); Miss Best Complexion - Tonia Collins (19); Miss Congeniality - Yola Jolema Noel (22); and Miss Elegance - Crystal McLawrence.
Other participants at the Pageant were: Charina Jones (19), Connie Farrier (21), Donic Mc Ewen (23), Leonie Patrick (24), Luan T.E. Harford (19), Nasheba Paul (20), Nicoline Louison (24), Nisha D. Frank (17); and Sharnell M Martin (20).
Entertainment was provided by the CLICO Shiv Shakti Dancers and harmonious singing by internationally renown singer, David Emmanuel, charmed the audience throughout the show.
