Grenada ’s Keith Simon is into another round of the Digicel Rising Stars show following an outstanding performance in Barbados.

The show, which was held at the Dove Center in Barbados, saw the contestants perform before a live studio audience in a highly competitive setting. Eight finalists performed but only four moved on to the next round.

According to Simon, "the experience was a good one and already I'm seeing the benefits of such a show". "I think it's a good opportunity for me to market myself musically and take full advantage of every other opportunity that presents itself", he added.

Simon will make his next appearance on October 22, along with the 4 top winners from last Sunday's show which saw performances from Kimoura Fraser and contestants from the other 8 participating islands, including St. Vincent which took home the Digicel Rising Stars title last year.

Kimoura, the other Rising Stars contestant from the Spice Isle, also gave a good account of herself last Sunday. She looked great, she was confident and she got good reviews from the judges. Persons wanting to vote for Keith again will have to wait for next Sunday's show, which will be on GBN at 8.00 p.m.

Every week voters will get a chance to win a trip for 2 to any of LIAT destinations or a Sony Ericsson J300 MP3 phone compliments Digicel and US$100 call credit compliments Q Point. Ultimately at stake in the Digicel Rising Stars Series is U.S. $10,000, a top of the line Sony Ericsson handset and a publishing contract for the grand finale winner. The second place winner will receive U.S. $5,000 while the third place will walk away with U.S. $3,000.

The Caribbean Airline - LIAT will provide air transport services to facilitate the staging of the show across the participating islands.
