The second Grenadian qualifier in the Digicel Rising Stars series
- Kimoura Fraser, will be making her first appearance on Sunday
(October 15).
The young
Grenadian will be coming up against finalists from Barbados,
St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Dominica, Antigua, Anguilla and St.
Kitts/Nevis. "I'm going to do my best.
I've been
practicing everyday and I'm confident that with the continued
support of the Grenadian public and my friends and neighbors,
I will accumulate enough votes to see me through to the finals",
she said. Keith Simon who was the first qualifier to perform
is now facing the voters around the region after his performance
which was aired last Sunday evening throughout the eight participating
islands.
In an interview
on Monday, Simon who hails from the village of Calivigny, St.
George's, thanked the Grenadian public for their support thus
far but impressed on everyone the importance of their votes,
particularly at this point (as he competes with strong contenders
from the other seven islands) to see him through to the next
stage.
Out of the
eight performers on Sunday's show, four will go on to the next
round of competition which will be on October 22. Persons who
wish to vote for Keith can do so by dialing 7804 or texting
to 7804 from their Digicel phones before midday Friday October
13.
Persons
wanting to vote for Kimoura will have to wait for next Sunday's
show, which will be on GBN at 8 PM. Every week voters will get
a chance to win a trip for 2 to any of LIAT destinations or
a Sony Ericsson J300 MP3 phone compliments Digicel and US$100
call credit compliments Q Point. Ultimately at stake in the
Digicel Rising Stars Series is U.S. $10,000, a top of the line
Sony Ericsson handset and a publishing contract for the grand
finale winner. The second place winner will receive U.S. $5,000
while the third place will walk away with U.S. $3,000.
The Caribbean
Airline - LIAT will provide air transport services to facilitate
the staging of the Show across the participating islands.
