Local Movie Producer, Anderson Quarless", hit "BLINDED" will be among several movies from throughout the world to be featured in the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.

Quarless is already in New York for the one week Festival which begins on Thursday. At the Festival, the local producer will have the opportunity to view films and videos from around the world including Canada, Australia, France, China, India, Brazil, Ireland, England and the United States.

This is the first time that a Grenadian has been given such an opportunity which could create further worldwide exposure for the spice Isle. "BLINDED" is the result of the creativity and innovation of the Executive Producer/Director of the film.

This young entrepreneur has taken his on the job experience in camera operation and combined it with his originality and ingenuity to bring to life the story of 'John" played by De Leon Walters and 'Clara' played by Tahira Carter.

The story tells of 'Clara' who meets 'John' at a particularly vulnerable time in her life, she is 'blinded' by love, and he becomes her world. The intense relationship then becomes violent and "Clara" is forced to take drastic action to protect herself and their son 'Chris'.

The tale tackles the issue of domestic violence, which is all too common in today"s society. This film has an entire local cast and crew, and was filmed in various locations throughout Grenada, including beaches, waterfalls and other scenic locations.

The aim of the producer is to showcase this movie locally, regionally and internationally, and to offer the use of the movie to appropriate agencies in an effort to raise awareness and stimulate discussion about domestic violence.

The film also features some of the top name local actors and actresses such as Bassanio Nicholas, Lindon 'Fatman' George, and Claudia Morgan-Carter to name a few.

Opening night ..... the dimly lit halls buzzing with conversation as producers network across two floor levels showing off their films and swapping information. The event took place in Manhattan, New York.
