Police are investigating the death of Moses George, a 43 year old Grenadian whose body was discovered along the Maurice Bishop highway on Sunday morning.

According to reports reaching Grenada Today newspaper, George who resides in Boston in the United States was in Grenada on a three-week vacation when he was killed.

He was scheduled to return to Boston last week Saturday but due to a last minute decision, he decided to cancel his flight to stay an extra day in the Spice isle. A close relative of the deceased said that George had borrowed a friend¹s motorbike to travel to the Point Salines International Airport (PSIA) to cancel his ticket with his air-carrier.

The source pointed out that the boston man was not expected to stay long at the airport and when hours passed, family members began to worry and made a number of calls to several places including the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for assistance.

CID Officials reportedly told the family that the lawmen are unable to assist since 48 hours need to pass before a person can be deemed as missing. However, George¹s body was discovered by a villager who alerted the police.

The family of the deceased are having a hard time figuring out what actually happened to George, saying that everything just do not add up. The source said that when the body was discovered his forehead was split to the point that his skull could be clearly seen and his lip and bottom jaw were completely torn away.

According to the source several pieces of jewelry worn by the deceased were not found on the body when it was discovered except for a gold bracelet. Also missing was his money and a black bag George had with him.

George is said to be married and was a father to three children. Police are also continuing investigations into the death of Alrick Thomas of Dougaldston, St John¹s whose decomposed body was discovered last week by Officers attached to the Western Division.

A police report said that the 42 year old man was reported missing on February 10.
