After a stint with the Keith Mitchell-led government, Josephine
Walters is back in the private sector.
Walters, a former television news anchor and producer at the
Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN), has landed a job with Cable & Wireless.
A company release said that the former journalist has been appointed
to the post of Marketing Communications Executive in the Retail
Services Division.
It stated that Walters brings to the job "a wealth of marketing
and public relations experience through her association with Courts
Grenada Ltd and most recently as Hospitality & Communications
Consultant in the Prime Minister's Ministry for the last four
years.
The release quoted, Cable & Wireless' Manager of Marketing
Communications, Sheldon Keens-Douglas as saying, "we are delighted
to welcome Josephine to C&W, and her poise and experience will
certainly be assets to our company.
Keens-Douglas said: "As Marketing Communications Executive,
Josephine will assist us to ensure that our company's messages,
both internal and external are managed and that the integrity of
our product and corporate brands are uncompromised.
"She will manage the relationships with our media partners
and will help to solidify the company's position as the leading
full service communications provider on the island, he added.
Walters officially assumed her
responsibilities on July 17, 2006. Cable & Wireless has announced
plans to hold a media briefing shortly to introduce Walters to
the press and other stakeholders.
