After a stint with the Keith Mitchell-led government, Josephine Walters is back in the private sector.

Walters, a former television news anchor and producer at the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN), has landed a job with Cable & Wireless.

A company release said that the former journalist has been appointed to the post of Marketing Communications Executive in the Retail Services Division.

It stated that Walters brings to the job "a wealth of marketing and public relations experience through her association with Courts Grenada Ltd and most recently as Hospitality & Communications Consultant in the Prime Minister's Ministry for the last four years.

The release quoted, Cable & Wireless' Manager of Marketing Communications, Sheldon Keens-Douglas as saying, "we are delighted to welcome Josephine to C&W, and her poise and experience will certainly be assets to our company.

Keens-Douglas said: "As Marketing Communications Executive, Josephine will assist us to ensure that our company's messages, both internal and external are managed and that the integrity of our product and corporate brands are uncompromised.

"She will manage the relationships with our media partners and will help to solidify the company's position as the leading full service communications provider on the island, he added.

Walters officially assumed her responsibilities on July 17, 2006. Cable & Wireless has announced plans to hold a media briefing shortly to introduce Walters to the press and other stakeholders.
