Brendon Monroe and Ariah Goddard have been crowned Ole Mas King
and Queen for 2006.
It was laughter for so at the
Grenada Trade Centre on Sunday as the St George's Lions Club held
its annual Ole Mas competition. Monroe not only took away the king
title but also the prize for the Most Comical portrayal, "Hisbuller
Flex Muscles".
Goddard, an actor who is attached
to OutCast Theatre portrayed, "Ass
Simulation Exercise".
The Best Band prize was taken
by Heritage Theatre under the banner, "A
Few Recent Events which included portrayals such as "Chris
Gayle looking good in Slips", "Fish Friday", and "The
West Indies in tour of the West Indies three draws".
The Most Original Mas and People's Choice went to Marvin
Peters of Out Cast Theatre. He portrayed "World Cup Cricket
Coming and the Best bMobile Portrayal title went to Bassanio
Nicholas with his "bMobile bfree.
Although the number of participants
in this year's competition
was relatively lower than in previous years, the show was still
dubbed as a success by the organisers. Sponsor for the show was
Cable and Wireless bMobile.
