Police are looking for a suspect to question in connection with last Saturday's brutal attack on senior citizen, Ivor O'Brian of Morne Jaloux, St. George's.

O'Brian, a former General Manager of the defunct Grenada Telephone Company (GTC) died one day later at the St. George's General Hospital from his injuries. A police official told this newspaper that the lawmen are working on the theory that the aged man was attacked by an intruder.

Over the years, there have been a number of break-ins at O'Brian's home with foodstuff being the target of the thieves,. According to a police official, the suspect who is wanted for questioning has been in hiding for the past few days in an apparent effort to try and evade the lawmen. He said that the police are confident about making an arrest soon for the murder of O'Brian.

A resident of the area told this newspaper that the badly beaten aged citizen was discovered lying helpless in his home by his daughter, Nicole Phillip. "I heard her (the female) shouting and bawling out that they kill him, they kill him. I rushed over there (to the house) but he (O'Brian) was not dead yet", he said.

The aged man was rushed to the General hospital but did not recover from his injuries. O'Brian worked in his latter years with Cable & Wireless (G'da) Ltd following the merger between GTC and the British-based telecommunications company. He was also a regular contributor on the call-in radio programmes run by the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN).
