The deceased
Twenty-three year old Devon Haywood also known as Darren Maitland of Snug Corner, St George's, has been charged by police for the murder of Richard Joseph.

Haywood was due to make his first court appearance Wednesday before Chief Magistrate Patricia Mark at the #1 Magistrate's Court in St. George's.

police report, the 43 year old deceased received a chop wound to the back of the head and was pronounced dead on arrival at the St. George's General Hospital.

The incident reportedly occurred around 10.30 p.m. The death of Joseph brings the number of persons killed in Grenada up to seven for 2006.
