St. George's Cemetery

A local couple has been found to be living in a tomb in the St., George's Cemetery. Information reaching GRENADA TODAY suggest that the man and his wife took refuge in the concrete-built tomb after their home was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in September 2004.

Residents in the area confided to this newspaper that the couple can be seen in the day cooking their meals on firewood next to the tomb. The residents could not shed any light on the toilet and bathroom facilities for the man and his wife inside the cemetery.

The new occupants of the tomb use a piece of red galvanise to cover the entrance to their new home inside the St. George's cemetery. It is not clear whether government officials in St. George's are aware of the occupation of the tomb by living human beings.
