Several Grenadians
flocked to St. Vincent and the Grenadines over the weekend to
witness the ascendancy of Canon Leopold Friday to the head of
the Anglican Community in the Windward Islands.
It was a
fitting tribute to the Vincentian-born Friday who has been administering
to Anglicans in Grenada for over a decade.
Among the
locals who made the short trip over to St. Vincent were Opposition
Leader Tillman Thomas and his colleague from the main opposition
National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter David. Health Minister
Ann David-Antoine represented Grenada Prime Minister Dr. Keith
Mitchell at the events held in St. Vincent at which Cannon Friday
became the head of the Anglican Diocese in the Windward Islands.
Cannon Friday
was a Customs Officer in St. Vincent before joining the Anglican
priesthood.
