After three months of testing and the establishment of a single regional network, customers with FirstCaribbean now have access to both Internet and Telephone banking services in fifteen countries where the Bank conducts business.

The Bank launched the new services Tuesday at a ceremony held at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) headquarters in St. George's.

Country Manager Ricardo Charles in his remarks at the ceremony noted that the services are not only convenient, but they are also easy to use.He described them as time saving, and a means by which customers are offered the flexibility to access their accounts anytime, anywhere from wherever there is Internet connection or access to a telephone.

Charles disclosed that the new services also have the ability to order replacement cheque books, pay bills, request stop payment of cheques and can either order a copy of a statement by phone or download transaction information via the internet.
It was also announced that Grenadians can use the services to pay their water and cable bills.

The FirstCaribbean Country Manager stated that customers who sign up for one or both of the services can do so in the knowledge that they are secure and backed by world class technology. He believes that the new services will result in an increase in the number of customers since persons will no longer have to wait in line to do basic transactions that can be conducted via the internet.

According to the Bank's Country Manager, he is confident the two new services will be welcomed particularly by their corporate banking customers who operate in more than one country in the region. The FirstCaribbean Country Manager stated that later in the year the bank will begin offering wire transfer services.

The Bank has also established Customer Service Centers in Jamaica and the Bahamas that will open for business for fourteen hours per day to deal with problems affecting customers .

To sign up they must log in to www.firstcaribbeanbank.com and click on the internet banking log on button that will lead them to the internet banking log on page. On that page, customers will be asked for their FirstCaribbean Bank Card number or User ID as well as their temporary password.

After entering the above information the person/s will then be prompted to change their password as a security measure and put in their new password that will only be known by the customer. Following the changing of the password, customers now have access to the services.

A fee of $US2.00 is charged monthly as well as 60 cents per transaction for every personal customer. Customers signing up for both Internet and Telephone Banking services will be charged a flat rate of $US3.00 monthly.

In the case of business customers a flat rate of US$10.00 is charged for both services.
