| AND
THAT'S MY POINT, OLE T'IEF! |

By Max Sterling Isn't it interesting to witness for ourselves how my delivery captioned: "Vendors classless children in charge" has sent shock waves throughout the camp of the guilty? Nothing I recorded could have been disputed especially when my reference was made of two serious sons of the soil (Sir Eric Gairy and Sir Paul Scoon) who came from nothing and made something of themselves. For the benefit of those "pot hounds" and "mongrels" whose sub zero intelligence precludes them from understanding my discourse, I again include the following for their ready reference: "Being a son or daughter of anyone of humble means ought to be a blessing indeed, as he/she has the potential to be in league with the success meant to be reaped by such persons. But when children of "market vendors" without any breeding and culture reach in positions they have no right to be in because of their serious lack of and for breeding, they must t'ief, lie, accept bribes and get involved in all the nastiness of ill-repute which come with the territory." Who the cap fit, let them pull it on tight as someone did in River Road! As God knows the cap seems to have fit "Alibaba" and one of his thieves. It is quite obvious that these "two" in particular, are not responding appropriately to the admonishment to do their poor parents proud as many of us have been begged by our poor parents to do. The dignity and integrity with which these humble decent mothers operated to take care of the business of minding their children, while serving an extremely useful purpose to earn an honest day's wage for and honest day's work - has been dismantled by the dishonesty of some of their seeds whose inherent dishonesty contributed to the short-lived prosperity which they are currently enjoying. I shudder to think that these lovely, honest mothers - one in particular whom I knew well - must be turning in her grave to see the path her child has taken in life - i.e. to t'ief instead of following her example to work hard and honest! And that's my point - ole t'ief! Nobody
wants to reintroduce "class structure" in Grenada. As you rightly
said, Gairy broke the back of that a long time ago. Hence the reason why
quite a number of them can be seen holding your hands and befriending
you for what they could get. I understand that the campaign has started with the NNP leader and his brigands staging village meetings regularly. One "chupidee" refers to this stepped up activity as the NNP turning up the heat on the NDC. I have news for this "chupidee". The NNP is swimming up stream against the tide, trying to change the inevitable. Don't you ever think for a minute that the NDC mistakes the intolerance of the masses to NNP's perpetual mismanagement for popularity......for if they do, they have another thought coming. Fact: They are the best positioned opposition group to benefit from the mammoth show of the people's disgust for Keith and his pot hound brigade. People right now in Grenada by and large are not focused on "the replacement" as much as they are focused on who is to be replaced. You see how, save and except for the six questionable votes in Carriacou, the fifty odd votes in St. John, the few others in St. Patrick's West and St. Andrew's, on account of the massive voter padding which took place in the period leading up to the elections, the message has been sent loud and clear. If they (NNP) think they are going to use the current chaos in Grenada with the electoral list in a state to snap any election, joke they making this time. The people are fed up of them and want them Out! Out! Out! It is no longer shouts of "house", "house", "house", but "out, "out", "out". No amount of propaganda regarding a US based civil suit against Peter David by a disgruntled fool who lost her property because she did not meet her end of the bargain with her mortgage, will save Mitchell. Doesn't this behaviour and attitude smack of desperation on the part of the 'chief t'ief", his pot hounds and mongrels? I am amused that the foreign resident representatives in Grenada have access to this newspaper and this column in particular. Fill in the blanks! Giving a couple case numbers and a couple sums of money without any substantiated information is not tantamount to guilt on the part of anyone. Even a known supporter of the "Kleps" indicated to me his disappointment in this level of desperation on the part of his personal friend, "De chief T'ief". Our pepole must remember that Mitchell told a gathering at Happy Hill that for all the years he has spent in the United States the only charge he got was a Traffic Ticket. He said that these are the same set of people who have accused him of briefcase which is untrue, and unsubstantiated with no evidence but now there is "hard evidence of criminal conviction against one of their members." When one wants to convince himself of something he has to repeat it very often so it could sound like the truth. But suppose more people like me were to visit the 15th Floor of 26th Federal Plaza, in the trial division in downtown Manhattan, New York and ask for information pertaining to the trial before the Federal Immigration judge involving a former Grenadian female civil servant who was allegedly RAPED by a high official in the NNP government - whose name you think would they see on those documents? Whose name would they see appearing as legal counsel for the raped victim against whom? Which local person is guilty of taking two jobs at the same university in the United States at the same time time and sending his ugly-alike undergraduate brother to do one and was caught and pardoned? Who is the person who stole close to $11,000 from the Grenada Shipping Agents back in the early 70's and left a paper trail promising to repay the embezzled sum and never to do anything like that again? Who is the person that has a culture of only using "approximately" when caught in hanky "pankies"? Who is the person known for t'iefing even the meat from his father's plate when he was given the task to carry his father's plate of food for him? Name the local person who is well on his way to becoming the first to move from his happy place of residence to "rich man" hill when a new government of decency takes charge in Grenada. Which local politician has been giving life to the old worn out saying: "Show me your company and I will tell you who you are". Which local politician is a magnet for ole t'ief and crooks, not to mention the "duncest" of the dunce? Who is the person that spent years t'iefing the people's money and must go to jail at the end of the day for his unpardonable crime against the people? Who is the first person in Grenada to celebrate ten years of t'iefing? Which local politician is known to be deeply involved in obeah and "does have regular blood baths"? Which local politician will go down in our history as the worst mis-manager of the people's affairs? Who is the person in our country that gets upset and mad every time they hear the following words: Embezzlement of close to eleven thousand EC dollars from the Grenada Shipping Agents, bribes from Eric Resteiner, Viktor Kozeny, Peter Capellar, Van Brink, chief t'ief, Lucifer, nastiness, little black boy, rapist, "ole t'ief", low class, inept, lacking in trust, responsibility, accountability, honesty, and back-stabber. Which local politician is known to have hired crooked individuals to represent Grenada's interest abroad? Which local politician gave prominence to the "Thiefing Knight" who blamed the disappearance of close to EC$1million put in a vote to celebrate the anniversary of the Grenada Revolution on the October 19th, 1983 catastrophe? Ah
tell you, when they ask him to account for the money he said he gave it
to so and so, and so and so. And guess what every so and so name that
was called by the "Thiefing Knight" was dead. If deceased Rawle Charles of T. Geddes Grant, Lloyd Benjamin of Geest, Fred Toppin of Hubbards, and others had not pardoned certain people for t'iefing the Shipping Agents' money and he had taken the jail he keeps postponing, Grenada would have been a better place today. If the 1990 Government had jailed certain people for the fire that covered up important evidence regarding a certain missing "craft", Grenada would not be in the position it is in today. Every Grenadian can answer these several questions and yet for all they continue to allow this "ole t'ief" to parade around the place freely. How long? Not long! I am certain as day that that a certain person will no doubt claim all those questions by his guilt ridden nature.
