Local stand-up Comedian, Lindon "Fatman" George is on the road to bigger things as he is now a member of the Learie Comedy Marathon Company of Trinidad and Tobago.

Fatman told GRENADA TODAY on Tuesday that membership was extended to him following his appearance at the annual Learie Joseph Concert held in Trinidad last month.

He was awarded membership by owner of the Company, Learie Joseph, and this enables him to perform with the company each time they perform. Talking of his experience of performing in Trinidad, Fatman said it was a great experience and the people seemed to like what he did.

Another positive for the ace local comedian due to his participation in the King of Comedy concert is that he is also associated with Spectacular Promotions of Trinidad, which promotes Comedians such as Tommy Joseph and Rachel Price.

According to Fatman, due to his involvement with that company he has already appeared in preformances in Barbados and Trinidad. He said he performed alongside comedians such as Ity, Fancy Cat, Lady Isha, and Learie Joseph among others.

Fatman announced that he will be touring with the company from July 3 with visits to Antigua, St. Lucia, Tortola and wthen back to Trinidad for a three-day show at the Queen's Hall Pavilion. The local boy is the first Grenadian Comedian to have been selected to go on a tour of this kind.

He admitted that he is very happy to get this kind of exposure, since he never thought he would have reached this far in such a short time. Fatman advises young aspiring Grenadian comedians to "get up and rock the boat." "You don't have to be smutty to be funny, be clean," he remarked.

Fatman who has been involved in comedy for more than seven years is one of Grenada's most popular MC's and is known to host many big shows including soca, reggae, comedy and calypso. He is a member of Out Kast Theater managed by Bassanio "Granny" Nicholas. Fatman is a two times winner of the stand-up comedy segment of the Grenada Arts Festival.

A past student of the Boca Secondary School, Fatman is the owner of Ezee Print which he formed in 2003. He said he is preparing for Laughaton, a local production, scheduled to take place at the Grenada Trade Center from August 12-13.

Fatman is also preparing for the Caribbean Kings and Queens of Comedy that will be held in New York later in the year.
