Dr. Grenade is the daughter of Cletus Grenade and Olga Grenade of Marian, St. George's. Her dissertation focused on the challenges to Caribbean integration in the contemporary era. Part of her work explored the implications of the quality of democracy within Member States for the regional integration project. Dr. Grenade's research is most timely and relevant given current developments within CARICOM. Dr. Grenade also holds two Master's degrees in Human Resource Management and International Studies. The newest Ph.d qualifier for Grenada attributed her success to the support given by her siblings and many relatives and friends who she said "sowed positive seeds into my life" over the years. "I could not have done this without you all. I owe this achievement to so many angels I met on life's path", she remarked. She put down her success to her strong faith in God, her positive attitude towards life and her philosophy that "we shape our destiny one decision at a time". Dr. Grenade encourages Grenadians, particularly the youth, to be self-motivated; seek alternatives to helplessness and victimhood; rise above obstacles; nourish their minds with positive thinking; and in so doing find their true purpose. She suggested that as individuals, "we can break the cycle of poverty and powerlessness by investing in education". Congratulations, Dr. Grenade. You have done Grenada proud! |
