Eleven year-old Ayehsa Noel who received the second highest score in the Common Entrance Examination in the Tri-island state, said the exams was very easy.

Ayehsa who is a student at the Westmoreland Junior School told GRENADA TODAY last Wednesday that she never thought she would have done so well in the exams.

She admitted that although regular classes were interrupted by the damages done to the school structure by Hurricane Ivan, last September, she was always engaged in revising for the exams. Ayehsa said that her parents also helped her to better prepare for the test. She revealed that her father, Dr. Denis Noel, an Orthopedic Surgeon, made a book of newspaper articles that dealt with current affairs and gave her to read.
"I love reading," Ayesha remarked.

The youngster stated that her mother, Dr. Jane Noel, also an Orthopedic Surgeon, provided her with past common entrance papers to help with her revision. Ayesha who lives in Lance Aux Epines, St. George's told GRENADA TODAY that her parents were very excited on hearing the news of her second placing in the country. She added that on hearing the good news, her father fell off his chair.

She thanked her parents, sisters and brother for helping her in preparing for the exams. Ayesha will be attending St. Joseph's Convent, St. George's, the school of her choice when the new school year begins in September. She said that she wants to go to SJC because her sister attends the school and because it is also a Catholic school.

Ayesha said that in her spare time she enjoys swimming and playing netball. Ayesha who was born in England and has been living in Grenada for over nine years, said that she wants to be a "Maths Teacher or maybe a Doctor."
