Cathisha Lenin Williams has brought home to Grenada the Miss Caribbean Talented Teen crown. The 17-year old former student of St. Joseph's Convent in St. George's captured the crown at the Pageant 25th Anniversary in Sweet Sugar City in St. Kitts when she defeated 12 other young ladies from different countries in the Caribbean.

Cathisha was also awarded Best Ambassadorial Speech and Best Designed Ambassadorial Costume. She received over $10,700.00 worth of prizes, and will take up the mantle of representing Caribbean Youths as the Ambassador for the Caribbean Single Market Economy (CSME).
In an exclusive interview with GRENADA TODAY, Cathisha said that she is very proud of her achievement and feels a sense of joy to know that she represented her country at this time of reconstruction and rebuilding after Hurricane Ivan and came out on top in the competition.

She stated that with the wealth of knowledge gained from taking part in the pageant which focussed on the CSME, she will be very honoured to share the knowledge obtained with the youths of the nation and the Caribbean. Cathisha currently attends the T.A. Marryshow Community College and is studying History, Literature, Physics and Mathematics. She graduated last July from St. Joseph's Convent with 11 passes at the C.X.C Level (10 grade 1s and 1 grade 2).

The new Caribbean Talented Teen winner hopes to pursue a career in International Law and International Relations and one day become and Ambassador for Grenada. Cathisha said that she is uncertain about participating in future pageants.

The Spice Girl marketed Grenada as a devastated island, with homes and families being blown into the abyss as the cataclysmic fury of nature bore down on our innocent isle. She was accompanied to St. Kitts by her Manager and Franchise owner Devon Francique, chaperone Joyclyn Francique, Talent Personnel, Ramesh A. Lalite and supporters, Gina and Anya Jerome.

She was sponsored by Las Especias Grenada, as well as Minister of Education and Labour, Claris Charles, Manager of Royal Castle, Gina Jerome and Kool System's manager, Vaughn Lawrence.

Miss United States Virgin Islands was the 1st runner-up in the competition, followed by the 2nd runner-up Miss Jamaica who also won Best Interview, with the 3rd runner-up being Miss St. Kitts & Nevis (Best Evening Wear winner).

Miss Anguilla was awarded Miss Photogenic, and Miss Trinidad & Tobago took away the prize for Best Talent.

The other participating countries were: Anguilla, Antigua, British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, and Venezuela. Grenada won the competition in 1992 through Natalie Isaac.
