A resident of Beaulieu, St. George's is the proud mother of the first baby to be born in Grenada for the new year. Donalisa Cadore give birth to the young one at 3:46 a.m. on January 1, 2005, at the St. George's General Hospital.

The mother was presented with baby products by representatives of Today's Wonders, the distributer of Huggies products. Donalisa received a Huggies hamper and a $500 gift voucher for her 7lbs baby boy.

The hamper includes baby pampers, blankets, wipes and other supplies for a new born a baby. The voucher also allows Donalisa to receive huggies products from Today's Wonders for her baby whenever she needs it.

Donalisa who said she was happy to be the mother who gave birth to the first new year baby has returned home with her healthy baby boy. Huggies Hospital Representative in Grenada, Margaret Dick who presented the gifts to Donalisa, said this is the first year that the company was making a presentation to the first baby to be born on New Year's day, and plans to make it an annual venture.

Dick stated that every week they had been handing out gifts to new born babies at the hospital.
