This newspaper was told that following the stabbing incident, a number of persons in the area assisted in quelling the disturbances. Later in the day, one of the men's nephews allegedly confronted the deceased and spoke to him with respect to the stabbing incident. It is alleged that the victim when confronted may have used words which may have angered the accused and as a result the accused slapped the victim who immediately fell and knocked his head. It is believed that the deceased who is known to be a heavy drinker later died due to internal head injuries.
