Thomas, the political leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was expected to address the nation on Tuesday night on the issue. The magazine referred to an alleged financial transaction between the Grenadian leader and German national Eric Resteiner in Switzerland in 2000. The Mitchell-led New National Party (NNP) government in a swift response to the exposure has threatened to take strong and swift action against any member of the local media that publishes the Offshore Alert article. It said in a release issued on Monday: "The Government has been informed and verily believe that an article, attributed to "OFFSHORE ALERT" and carried on the internet, libelous of the Hon. Prime Minister, is about to be aired on your network. "In fact, the Prime Minister, through the appropriate channels, has instructed that the necessary legal action be taken in Miami where it is believed that this story eminated and in particular the Publisher (David Marchant) of "Offshore Alert", it ended. The NDC leader has called for a full scale and independent probe into the allegations made against Prime Minister Mitchell. According to Thomas, the inquiry is needed to clear the good name of Grenada and to bring back confidence, financial integrity and good governance in the Spice Isle. Following is the document with the full list of questions which was submitted to parliament by the Opposition Leader for the attention of the Prime Minister: May 10, 2004 Mr.
