Journalist of the Grenadian Voice Newspaper, Ms. Calistra Farrier will travel to the Republic of China (ROC) on Taiwan to cover the Inauguration of the country's President Chen Shui-bian and Vice President Annette Lu.

The Inauguration ceremony will take place in Taipei on May 20 at 10:00 am. Elections for the President and Vice President were held on March 20, 2004 and both President Chen and Vice President Lu was re-elected to office.

Ms Farrier was invited by the Government Information Office of Taiwan along with several other journalists from countries around the world. Ms. Farrier and the other journalists will call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Chen Tan Sun, Vice Chairman of the Council for Economic Planning and Development Mr. Hsieh Fadah, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Mr. Shih Yen-chiang, Deputy Director General Tourism Bureau Mr. Michael Hsu and Chairperson of the Mainland Affairs Council Dr. Tsai Ing-wen.

Part of their itinerary includes visits to Taipei Financial Center (Taipei 101), Hsinchu Science-Based Industrial Park Administration, the Industrial Technology Research Institute and the National Palace Museum. Ms. Farrier is scheduled to leave Grenada on May 14th and return on May 22.
