The
Republic of China (ROC) on Taiwan has donated a further 45 sets of computers
to the Grenada Government. In officially handing over the computers, resident ROC Ambassador Lii-shang Jiang said that his Government has recognised the importance of Information Technology in Grenada and decided to respond with the donation of computers for the country. He said he hopes that many more people in Grenada can become computer literate and that more computers will be available to schools in the future. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elvin Nimrod accepted the donation on behalf of the Government of Grenada and expressed gratitude to the Taiwanese government for the computers and the contribution made over the years. To date, the ROC has donated a total of 233 sets of computer equipment worth US$806.460 for distribution to government agencies. Apart from computer donation, two volunteers from the Republic of China have served in Grenada for two years providing computer training to students at the T.A.
