Two of Grenada's top soca entertainers have publicly denied being involved in acts of criminal wrongdoing.

The two, former Calypso and Soca Monarch, Elimus Gilbert known in the entertainment arena as "The Hitman Inspector", and reigning Soca Monarch Wilt Cambridge (Tallpree) told hundreds of soca lovers on Saturday night that the allegations leveled against them are unfounded and mischievous.

InspectorInspector who was arrested and charged earlier this month by local police in connection with a sexual offense (the Defilement of a female) denied the allegation while performing at a soca show held at the popular Fox Inn Hotel over the weekend.

Inspector, a resident of Bay Road in Sauteurs, St. Patrick's, is currently on EC$7000.00, bail and is scheduled to make his first Court appearance on July 13.

According to a police source, the virtual complainant in the matter is a 13 year old secondary school student. The 34 year old Musician told the large audience during the soca concert that a number of persons in the country are spreading rumors about him.
He told the energetic crowd that there are some people who like to talk, spread rumors and say all kinds of wrong things about people, and begged his fans not to worry.

"All you know that there are people who will try and do or say anything to bring down people but they cannot stop me, I will show them who is boss", said Inspector. The other soca star "Tallpree", also told soca fans that accusations leveled against him are totally untrue.

"Tallpree", also echoed what Inspector had stated earlier about people who will do anything to try and bring down others. He said that he was never arrested, charged, picked up or questioned by police for any alleged wrong doing.

Tallpree's name was linked to an alleged act of arson of a house in Beaulieu, St. George's. The artiste said that he knows nothing about it and was never involved in any wrongdoing or criminal act in light of the widespread rumors in the country.

He told hundreds of fans that they should not worry since he is not in trouble with the law. Close to ten persons from Vendome in St. George's believed to be linked to the "Stainless Crew", gang were accused of burning down a dwelling house in the area.

Tallpree was said to be out of the country at the time of the incident. Eight persons have been charged by the police in connection with arson.
