FirstCaribbean International Bank in Grenada, hosted Sir Peter Middleton, Chairman of Barclays Bank PLC and John Hunkin, President & CEO of CIBC, during a one-day visit on January 12.

As part of their itinerary, both gentlemen held talks with Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Mitchell and a representative of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Linda Felix-Berkley.
During these visits they reiterated the feelings of confidence that both heritage banks Barclays Bank PLC and CIBC- have in the development path that FirstCaribbean international Bank has undertaken.

They were especially pleased to have been able to meet with some of FirstCaribbean top customers over lunch at the Rex Grenadian Hotel.

They spent the latter part of the day visiting the Grand Anse and St. George's branches, taking time out to congratulate staff on the hard work they have put into building the FirstCaribbean brand over the past year.
FirstCaribbean is a merger of two of the largest banks in the Caribbean, CIBC West Indies Holdings Limited and Barclays Bank PLC.

The bank seeks to become one of the largest locally listed banks in the Caribbean based on market capitalization, with some US$9 billion in assets, and over 700,000 accounts.
