The two suspects in last week's break-in at the Grand Anse Branch of First Caribbean Bank (FCB) formerly Barclays Bank were remanded to the Richmond Hill Prison.

Grand anse Valley residents, Stephen Carrington, 25 and Anderson Richard Farray,24, an Electrician appeared before Chief Magistrate Patricia Mark on Wednesday to answer charges of Housebreaking and Stealing.

According to a police report, the two alleged stole $5,0001.00 worth of coins from the Grand Anse Branch of the Bank.
The incident is believed to have taken place some time between last Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Sources told GRENADA TODAY it is believed that the burglars entered the bank through an open window in the washroom area by forcefully removing the wrought iron.
He said that the police were able to make a breakthrough in the case after a courier approached a commercial institution on the island attempting to exchange a large quantity of coins for cash.

The lawmen were called in to question the courier who told the police that he was sent by an individual to have the coins changed into dollars.

The source said the police decided to act on the information given to them and went to a home in the south of the island in search of a suspect.

One of the suspects was on the run from the lawmen for a few days and eventually turned himself in to the South St. George Police Station on Monday accompanied by Barrister at-Law Francis Paul attached to Ciboney Chambers.

The two appeared before Chief Magistrate unrepresented and were remanded to the Richmond Hill Prisons until February 3.
