State-controlled
Grenada Development Bank (GDB) is set to have a new manager. Informed
sources told GRENADA TODAY that John Dumont, a former senior employee
with the National Commercial Bank (NCB) is tipped to take up the post
within the next few weeks.According to authoritative sources, the Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) will have to give clearance for Dumont to take up the assignment. "As I understand it, the government has agreed but is waiting on the CDB to give the go ahead for John (Dumont) to start working at the bank", one official said. Most of the funds for GDB are provided through the CDB. It is the second time that Dumont's name has surfaced with the development bank which lends money to persons in tourism, and agriculture. He had applied for the post of Manager of the GDB-sponsored Small Enterprise Development Unit (SEDU) a few years ago but was unsuccessful. Dumont had worked most of his years with NCB until the two parted ways a few years ago. |
