Two youngsters of Vincennes, St. David's made their first court appearance last Thursday before Chief Magistrate Patricia Mark in connection with the Carnival Monday murder of 20-year old Kennard Harris of Corinth in St. David's.

The suspects Denis Cambridge (19) and Haig Telesford (21),were remanded in custody at the Richmond Hill prison until September 2 on the charge of murder by unlawful harm.

They are jointly represented in the matter by the law firms of Anslem Clouden and Associates and Ciboney Chambers.

An official police report said that around 8:05 a.m on August 9, officers attached to Criminal Investigations Department (CID), St. George's, left on inquires by way of the General Hospital, St. George's, where they observed the body of the deceased.

The report stated that the body which was later identified as Harris was lying motionless on his back, in a trolley at the hospital's Mortuary.

The deceasedUpon closer examination of the corpse, the investigators observed two stab wounds on the deceased left breast approximately three inches apart.

Grenada Today learnt that the Investigators also discovered that the deceased also had a wound on his left wrist and right forearm.
The report said that based on information received, the officers proceeded to the long concrete steps leading to the Sendall Tunnel near the St. George's bus terminal, where they conducted a search of the area and in the process retrieved one stainless steel knife, measuring 13 inches in length, one (1) breathing insecticide mask, a small green bag and a red tam with two (2) holes.

The police believe that the knife was used to inflict the wound on the deceased. Speculation is rife that the incident is related to the ongoing gang warfare in the country involving youths.
