Drug Squad officials in Grenada made what some call a stunning discovery after the officers found a quantity of Cocaine hidden in the anus of a British woman.

According to reports reaching Grenada Today, the illegal drugs were found on 25 year old Alison Robertson during a body search by local police officers.

It is understood that Robertson who claimed to be a Photographer by profession had a total of five and three quarter ounces (5 3/4 ozs) of Cocaine hidden in her bottom, which she was attempting to smuggle out of the country.

She was later charged with Possession and Trafficking of a controlled Drug (Cocaine). A senior Police official told our news desk that the local estimated value of the drugs is in the region of EC$16,000.00.

Robertson was said to be in the company of two British citizens, Denis Craven and Stephen Arthur Marsh of London, England who were also caught trying to smuggle separate quantities of Cocaine out of the country.

It is reported that Carven, a 56 year old Carpenter had some (2 lbs,11ozs), of Cocaine in his possession with an estimated local street value of EC$148,000.00.

It is understood that Marsh, the other suspected drug courier, was carrying some (3 lbs.4ozs) of Cocaine, valued at EC$124,000.00 at the time of his interception.

The suspects appeared before Chief Magistrate Patricia Mark last Thursday at the St. George's Magistrate's Court where drug-related charges were read out to them. All three defendants were unrepresented and denied bail by the court at the request of the Police.

The lawmen noted that the suspects have no fixed addresses in Grenada and that there was no guarantee that they will return to Court if granted bail. The Chief Magistrate remanded them to the Richmond Hill prison until August 23.

Meanwhile, on August 8, local police arrested and charged a Vincentian man with Trafficking and Possession, of thirteen pounds twelve ounces (13 lbs, 12 ozs) of Marijuana.

Police have given the name of the suspect as 34 year old Conrod Lewis who is believed to be a Plumber of Bay Road, Georgetown, St. Vincent.
