In 2002, the Rotary Club of Grenada was granted a 33 year lease on 9.6 acres of land at Quarantine Point, Morne Rouge, St. George's and has since embarked on a development project in the area of public recreational park facilities for Grenadians and visitors, while preserving and enhancing the environmental and aesthetic value of the site.

On Thursday July 1, 2004, the Grenada Co-operative Bank Ltd., presented a cheque to the Rotary Club of Grenada towards assisting the organization in the purchasing of Plants required for planting hedges along the perimeter and the said 9.6 acres of land.
During the cheque handing-over session, Out-going President of the Rotary Club of Grenada, Mr. Desmond John was high in praise of the Bank's support to this noteworthy venture and the organization in general.

Co-op Bank's unwavering commitment towards the development and preservation of our environment is irrefutable. The Bank, as the only locally owned Grenadian commercial Bank, recognizes its civic duty as a corporate citizen, and this contribution is just one in many others that attest to this.

Others include support to the Grenada Solid Waste Management Authority annual Anti-Litter Awareness Campaign; the "Prepare to Survive Radio Programme" which addresses the issue of being prepared in the advent of a Hurricane; the restoration and beautification of landmarks; erection of Bus Shelters, just to name a few.

Co-op Bank, for the third consecutive year, is the proud recipient of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Good Corporate Citizen Award for Environmental Awareness, the only financial institution in the O.E.C.S. to have been awarded this designation by the ECCB.
