Harris
Paints Barbados Limited has launched its Colour Center and Choices Card
at a ceremony held at the Flamboyant Hotel last Tuesday.
The Colour Center is located at L.L Ramdhanny & Company on the Maurice
Bishop Highway in the south of the island.
Marketing Manager for Harris Paints Brenda Foster told the seminar that
the Card is the first of its kind in the region and that it offers consumers
a variety of colours to choose from.
She disclosed that it was developed with the assistance of an Interior
Designer and that some of the colours available are called after famous
places and products in the Caribbean.
There are at least five shades that are synonymous to Grenada such as
True Blue, Grand Anse, Cocoa, Dasheen, Passion Fruit and Ginger Beer.
Foster stated that the new product gives a person the opportunity to use
the Harris co-ordinated colours in many different ways.
She said the painter can now choose one colour as the dominant or main
colour while the exterior and interior surfaces can be painted in a second
colour or supporting colour.
The colours Foster pointed out is often rich, dark, bright, white or pastel
and can be contrasted against darker or richer backgrounds for a dramatic
effect.
The Marketing Manager stated that the paints are available in Harris Ultima
that includes Flat Emulsion, Satin Emulsion, Gloss Emulsion, Ultima Gloss
Enamel and Ultima Satin Enamel.
She said they are also available in Dulux Professional such as Satin Finish
Exterior, Aquacrylic Gripper Primer, Dulux Flat Finish Exterior and Dulux
Professional Matte Finish Interior.
Export Manager for Harris Paints Barbados Michael Carter also spoke about
several new products that will be introduced by the company across the
region during this month.
One of them is Caribbean Classic Foster said will allows agents to control
their inventory of colours so as to prevent them remaining on the shelves
for a long period.
Some of the colours available include Mahogany American, Mahogany Walnut,
Rosewood, Teak, Light Oak, Heritage Oak, Pine and Antique Pine.
Carter stated that these colours are not in competition with Harris Ultima
but will enhance those that are already available in the market.
He also announced the introduction of Devoe High Performance Coating which
he said will be used for industrial purposes such as on bridges, industrial
plants and heavy duty commercial businesses.
The other product that was launched is the Cuprinol 5 star complete wood
treatment that protects against termites, woodworm, dry rot and wet rot.
