One of Grenada's emerging reggae artiste "Rashani" continues to make his mark and a name for himself on the international reggae market. "Rashani", originally from Woburn in St. George's, is presently based in New York where he recently launched his new fifteen (15) track reggae album entitled "The Realist" which is his fifth reggae album.

In a recent interview with Grenada Today the reggae singer who is known for his exquisite style of writing said his journey to the peak of the reggae industry has just began. The musician described his journey thus far as being "an uphill task" not only for himself but a number of top Caribbean reggae artistes who have the capability to make it big internationally in the musical industry.

"Rashani" released his first reggae album in 1995 which he said was the foundation of his upliftment. The artiste also spoke about the man who helped to co-produce his work, reggae legend Ed Robinson "Working with Robinson has helped me, he knows his stuff, he is well respected, experienced, humble and is one of the big time artiste who gave us the popular hit, "Knocking on Heavens Door"", he said. "Rashani" admitted that he has a very long way to go in terms of getting past the negative vibes and the barriers, such as the finance needed for marketing.

The New York-based Grenadian told our news desk that his new album has been able to make more in-roads for him in the industry and that's based on "the positive response and words of encouragement" received from some of the big name artistes, this will certainly help to boost his performance in the future. "Rashani", who boast of his own style and true love for foundation music says success for him is not the amount of money he makes but doing what he loves and how well he does it and the respect he earns from do it.

He added that so far almost all of his new tracks have been given good ratings and he believes that his album because of the type of material will survive and stand the test of time by becoming a vintage album. He said while in theUnited States he has been performing live in New York and a few other States with people like Terry Ganzi, Jr. Demus, Mikey Dread and others.
