Grenada's lone electricity services company (GRENLEC) has presented in excess of EC$7000.00 dollars worth of cricket gears to the island's national under-19 cricket team to participate in the Windward Islands tournament now taking place in neighboring Trinidad and Tobago.

The company's Corporate Communications Manager, Claudia Alexis made the presentation to President of the Grenada Cricket Association (GCA), Kenny Hobson at a presentation ceremony at the national stadium in St. George's.

In making the presentation, Alexis called on the young cricketers to remain focused on their game and play with a winning attitude in order to ensure that Grenada comes out on top in the competition.
She told the youngsters that both GRENLEC and Grenada are proud of them and the country expects them to perform at their best since one day they might be part of the senior West Indies cricket team.

In receiving the uniforms, Hobson thanked the utility company for their assistance which he dubbed a meaningful contribution at this time.

He also echoed Alexis' call for the players to be focused on the games to be played in the tournament and suggested that they need to understand their responsibility to the team, their own selves, the parish the represent, the sponsors and most importantly the county.

Hobson also thanked Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Veda Bruno-Victor who was very resourceful in providing tickets for the team to travel to Trinidad to participate in the tournament.

. Bruno-Victor who was present also addressed the gathering and said that she was extremely happy that "our cricketers are well outfitted".

"As you play, play with pride and dignity. Work hard and whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability. Do not be a in a hurry to out. Stay and bat well", she told the cricketers. She urged the players to be sound in their discipline and to be at their best behavior while on tour.

Like Hobson and Alexis, the PS in the Ministry of Sports reminded the players of their duty and responsibility to the country, sponsors, the team and themselves.

Meanwhile, the GCA was the recipient last Thursday of a Mita-DC1460 photocopy machine compliments Jonas Browne and Hubbards Stationary Department.

The photocopier was presented by the company's assistant General Manager, Michael Graham to GCA Secretary, Cecil Greenidge during a short ceremony held at the association's main office at the National Stadium at Queen's Park.
