Police Officers in Grenada, particularly those attached to the Western division, have launched an intensive investigation into last weekend’s robbery at the Patrick’s Revenue Office that resulted in the disappearance of the vault containing cash in excess of one hundred thousand dollars.
According to reports reaching the Grenada Informer, residents of St Patrick received the shocking news early Friday morning a time when many pensioners in the parish would have been counting down the time to which they must join the line to receive their pension.
Sources told the INFORMER that the intruder/s must have entered the building from its wooden floor and made off with the vault some time on Thursday.
One source told the Informer that who ever was involved in the unfortunate incident, must have had some clear idea where this vault was located and came to the building specifically for one purpose.
INFORMER also learnt that whatever cash was in that vault was place there late on Thursday for distribution on Friday.
Meanwhile information reaching the INFORMER on Tuesday revealed that the missing vault was discovered on a beach in the St. Patrick’s area with its content missing. However, but Officers attached to the Western Division of the Royal Grenada Police Force told this paper that they have no such information and as far as they were concerned, that vault containing some one hundred and thirty five thousand dollars is still missing.
A number of persons, we were told, have been questioned, but no arrest were made as of press time Tuesday.
