Scary moments as passengers on board a bus travelling to St. Patrick’s late Tuesday were force to jump to safety as the bus in which they travelling caught fire while in flight.
Information reaching the Grenada said the red and black Toyota bus registration number HG 55 driven by one Danny had just entered the village of Beasejour when one of its tyre explored lowering the vehicle onto the road.
One eye witness told Informer sparks of fire was seen coming from the back of the bus which suggested that the vehicle was no longer running on tyres but reams.
Our sources further stated that the vehicle came to a stop and at that stage fire from what appeared to be a leaking gas tank ignited sending the entire vehicle in flame.
Persons we were told was seen making their escape from all sides of the vehicle one child we were told was left behind and had had to be rescue all be it unhurt by two passengers.
Shortly after that heroic rescue we were told the bus explored sending flame hundred of feet in the sky.
The fire fighters quickly came to the scene but to late to save the bus that had simply burnt beyond recognition. Bus drives Danny said he had no idea what had actual happened.
“All I knew” he said “I entered a rough part in the road, knew the tyre had explored so I was trying to controlled the vehicle and get it to stop, but when I stop and looked back, all I saw was fire”
At the time of the fire the bus was filled to capacity no one we were told suffered any major injuries.
