The family of four year old Onayah Williams Blackman is left with only memories after the fatal and tragic death of their beloved daughter who passed away on Friday the 11th of May 2007 on the Mt. Hartman public road, when she was the victim of a motor accident involving a Suzuki Escudo Registration No. PU 334, driven by thirty eight year old Carl Redhead of the said address.
According to Odinga Williams, mother and Harry Blackman the father of little Onayah, she was on her way across the road when she was knocked down. Miss Williams told Grenada Informer that she was on the other side of the road waiting for her daughter to cross when she heard a loud noise. She thought it was the dog she was seeing lying on the roadway, but discovered it was her little daughter Onayah’s lifeless body.
Terrified and sad, she picked up her daughter, held her in her arms and carried her to a car that took them to the General Hospital, where she was examined and pronounced dead on arrival.
Four year old Onayah Williams Blackman, former Level Two B student of Beacon Learning Center, was said by her parents to be very intelligent, a princess, an angel, friendly to people of all ages and admired by many.
The staff of the Grenada Informer would like to extend condolences to the family and friends of little Onayah Williams Blackman who would be laid to rest on Wednesday 23th of May 2007.
