....... as herd heads for water
A herd of about fifteen cattle last week Thursday created havoc for motorists at Lance aux Epines. Vehicles traversing theat area had to slow to as little as five miles per hour so that the unpredictable movements of the cattle did not result in accidents.
One motorist was not lucky when a black bull jumped from the bank he was standing on and unto her car, smashing the windscreen, damaging the grill, headlamps, bonnet and one fender. Fortunately the driver and passengers suffered no casualities as a result of the incident.

The herd was apparently making its way to water before going back to the pasture where they had been grazing that day. Although the police came to the scene, it is not confirmed whether the owner(s) came forward.
It is usual that when there are accidents involving cattle and sheep which are let loose to find food and water during the drier months of the year, owners lay low so that they are not made to accept liability for damages and losses caused.
