Lockerbie said the team which also Tim May of the International Players Association, General Manager of Cricket Operation of the ICC David Richardson, Andy Athkinson of the Pitch and field consultant, visited the practice nets, hotels, and practices fields and with respect to all cricket operation, Grenada gets a big thumbs up.
Lockerbie said there is some work still to be done in the immediate surrounding of the facility but said he has every confidence that the LOC would get the job done. Among the works still not completed are landscaping, paving, water and sewer system.
Lockerbie said with less that one month to go before the start of the first worm-up match, the entire country needs to now step up to the plate and not ease up at the finish line but keep the pace and that sense of urgency to ensuring that the games are held to the highest standard.
The Venue Offices said one of his concerns to date was to have declared the region a single domestic space for the event. He experienced some setbacks during his travel on Monday, one he said that was not supposed to have entered the single space from Barbados, but hastened to say these are early days and that those thing need to be put in place prior to the games to ease travel.
Now that the Stadium is ready, Lockerbie said Grenadians need to have the other facilities like the Airport fully ready.
Additionally he said, Grenadians need to purchase their tickets to ensure that the games are a success.
