Thousands of Grenadians converged at the Tanteen Recreaction Ground, St. George’s to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of Independence on Wednesday February 07th, under the theme “Enhancing Growth and Revenue - Empowering the Youth, Protecting the Vulnerable”.
It was a morning described by many, who attended, as a display of Grenada’s national colours, a military and para-military showcase and an exhibition of culture’s excellence, amidst the ceremonial array of Grenada’s achievements for the past 33 years.
There were foreign and local dignatories representing Grenada’s diplomatic and political relationship with regional and international governments and states. Among them were the Ambassador of the People’s republic of China, His Excellency Qian Hongshan and the United States Ambassador to Grenada and the Eastern caribbean Ambassador Mary Ourisman. There was a strong delegation from the Republic of Venezuela who provided a contingent of paratroopers and military personnel.
